The United Way agencies of Elgin Middlesex and Oxford received a donation of $229,430.00 from the students and staff of the Thames Valley District School Board (TVDSB).
Thames Valley once again partnered with the United Way to run school based and board wide fundraising events. Thames Valley thanks the many Site Champions, students, and staff for their enthusiastic commitment to this year's campaign.
“As Director of Education, I was proud to be a part of the 2023 United Way campaign. Over 80 United Way-funded community agencies help students and staff overcome challenges,” said Mark Fisher, Director of Education. “United Way agencies and Thames Valley have a shared commitment to serve equity-deserving communities across the district and we are proud to collaborate in supporting those in greatest need. For many communities, that much-needed support starts with United Way.”
Through a network of social service organizations, United Way funds programs that aim to prevent problems before they start. The donations will support the important and impactful work of the two United Way organizations in Thames Valley communities.
